Eyeliner Embroidery Aftercare Guide

Introduction

There’s something incredibly freeing about waking up with defined eyes. No smudging, no shaky eyeliner mistakes, no wasted time in front of the mirror. The quiet beauty of embroidery gives your eyes that subtle, natural definition even when you are not wearing a stitch of makeup.

But here’s what most people don’t realise: The way your eyeliner heals depends entirely on how you care for it after the session. The results you end up with are shaped by how well you treat your skin in the days that follow.

And if you live in Singapore, you already know we have a bit of everything. It gets humid, hot, rainy, and sweaty all in one day. Add skincare products, sun exposure, and mascara habits into the mix, and it becomes even more important to be intentional about healing.

If you are not sure where to start, don’t worry. This guide will walk you through exactly what to do.

Also, if you have not booked your appointment yet, consider going with Arch Angel Brow. We take the time to walk clients through every step of the aftercare process with zero guesswork.

So… what happens after the session?

Right after the treatment, the colour will look more intense than you imagined. That’s normal. Your lash line might feel a little warm, maybe a bit swollen, and for some people, it even gets teary for a few hours.

Try not to stare too long in the mirror, wondering if it’s too dark. It’s not. That boldness fades.

And for now, leave your eyeliner alone. No rubbing, no testing the pigment, no “just checking.” Just let it be.

Days 1 to 3: Your lash line is a diva

Now is when your eyes want peace and space. Avoid makeup. No micellar water. No aggressive face washing.

What you can do:

  • Dab gently around the area using a damp cotton pad, not across the eyeliner
  • Use the balm your artist gave you. A tiny bit with a cotton bud, no double dipping
  • Definitely skip your usual eye cream or lash serum
  • Sleep facing up. Yes, even if you normally hug your pillow

It’s a short phase, but a crucial one.

Arch Angel Brow actually gives you a small kit and tells you when to use what, so nothing’s left to guesswork.

Days 4–7: Things start to flake

At some point, the pigment will start peeling or flaking; it can look like it’s falling off. Try not to panic. It’s not your real colour leaving. It’s just the top layer of healing skin doing its thing.

Do not pick. I know it’s tempting. Just don’t.

No eyeliner, no mascara, no rubbing your eyes even gently. And no heaty foods that make your face sweat. Keep using your ointment and stay chill.

Week 2–3: Colour returns, softer now

Once the flaking stops, your eyeliner will look softer, maybe even too soft. But give it time. The pigment is still settling, and the colour will come back more evenly.

This is when the shape and overall tone begin to show. It’s not the final look yet, but you’re close.

You can go back to your normal skincare routine now, just avoid acids and whitening products around the eyes. And still no mascara unless your artist gives the green light.

Touch-up isn’t a bonus — it’s part of it

A lot of people think the first session is enough. It’s not. Eyeliner embroidery is always done in two parts.

The first creates the base. The second, about 4 to 6 weeks later, seals the result. If you skip it, your liner may fade unevenly or not last as long.

Mistakes people make

Here’s what ruins results faster than you’d expect:

  • Applying mascara too early
  • Rubbing your eyes without thinking
  • Skipping the touch-up
  • Using skincare with active ingredients near the lash line
  • Going for a steamy facial or sauna too soon

You don’t need to live in fear, just be a little extra mindful.

And if you’re doing this for the first time, Arch Angel Brow makes everything simple. You won’t be left wondering what to do next – we want to guide you through it, so you can have a result like this below:

Recovery is still part of the treatment

The clean, subtle lash line you want doesn’t show up overnight. It takes care. Not fancy serums or extra products — just the right balm, clean habits, and a bit of patience.

If you’re putting in the time and money for the treatment, give it the right environment to heal.

Want a cheat sheet?

  • Keep the area dry for the first few days
  • Use the balm as instructed
  • Skip all makeup near your eyes for at least a week
  • No rubbing, picking, or sleeping on your side
  • Stay out of saunas, swimming pools, or anything steamy
  • Book your touch-up (don’t delay)
  • If in doubt, check with your artist

Healing well gives you results that last. Be patient with it.

And remember, the Arch Angel Brow studio doesn’t just deliver good eyeliner. We help you get through recovery with peace of mind.
